Devotion

Devotion is what a parent feels forever in their hearts for their children. For Laura's sketch I was inspired by this vintage image of a father pulling the curtain to see his baby. Not often do we see the tender side of men, but it's there specially when it comes to their children. This is the perfect father's day card for my husband, who is devoted to his children beyond belief. I am so lucky he's mine.
This is also the perfect card for the Cards challenge, this Sunday he will have a special sentiment inside by the kids!

Haute Couture

Senior proms are coming, and girls all over high schools are looking for what to wear. I just couldn't resist with only one choice so I ended up making 2, rows and rows of punched scallops...maybe I am not finished yet and will whip up another batch...who knows, inspired by Kazan's sketch this week!
Next is my mothers day LO, with my kids, blessed day with the grandmas, what more can we ask for! Hope you had a wonderful one with your mamas too.

Pretend

Joy

Joy of being a mom, with its goods and the not so goods. This weekend we made cake together, yesterday not so good @ school, this morning the unexpected...Always an adventure that of being a mother: to care, to nurture, to be there

Pancakes, cards and pages!

What is a mom to do...I was making breakfast to little Miss M when I looked @ the pan I saw a ladybug. Now it may sound silly but it made my "non morning" little person cheer up! So much I did it again, not as an accident anymore, mind you. All you do is pour the batter off center in a non stick pan, and then pour again close to it to create the "head", before you flip it make a V mark with your spatula at the end of the first pancake and right in the middle, it will transfer to the other side, and then you flip, you can decorate with strawberries or chocolate chips or whatever strikes your little one's fancy!
For Kazan's sketch I made a Mother's Day card,it's coming before you know it
and to tie you over here are some new LO's I've created, sorry for the abscence but the kids were on their spring break and I needed to spend time with them!

Contrast

This past weekend I was outside with the little miss and I saw this glorious contrast of her sitting in the balcony against the variegated ginger. she was dressed in turquoise and I BEGGED her to let me take some photos. You see with her it is all about me hiding with the camera to have her pictures...I loved that smile and a bunch of other photos from that same shoot that will be surfacing, because I want to scrap them all.
So I devoted this week to contrats in the color wheel, the card for Laura with the hand sewn and beaded felt flowers and the new Jenni Bowlin, the pink and green for Melissa and the turquoise and green for me. Hope you end up as inspired as I am!

Friends

This is the cutest of images! I melted when I saw this chipboard from
Crate Paper, the rest well I did this banner for my son's 8th grade, they were the Phineas and Ferbs, how cool, one of my faves, so I was happy cutting out felt freehand.
A mini from Teresa Collins baby using Maya Road cb, so cute 4 the little ones!

Thank You

For 4 days I have been thinking about how to tackle a sketch, that never happens, I always just go...This morning I was blogging around and found Melissa's color challenge and then the idea was finished so it is Kazan's sketch with Melissas color challenge. Enjoy my little one stitching...sew beautiful!!!! I am sorry I could not edit the photo of the LO, but there she is in person needle in hand so blessed to have her loving the things I love. And how about our rabbit, yeah we painted the little one together, hand made roses, the works!

Surf's up!

I went head over heels with Laura's sketch, to me it screamed SUMMER, for some reason all I could see was a surf board! So to heat things up I made a moveable card, you can actually take the surfboard out and flip it.

So happy it made top 5!!!

Welcome Spring, I am all excited, the image of the bike, the piece of novel from Nora Roberts, the breeze, the flowers, it is all so good...Look at the luscious ribbon from May Arts..And of course there is the altering, how about a panoramic egg? Coming soon is my rabbit, can't wait to finish. And of course some lay outs to tie you over. Come and play!
