Hi everyone! Sorry for the MIA...busy, busy, busy...plus I was working on something I can't reveal yet...

so here's the new case at CSI, and did you hear the news I am soooo thrilled to be a CSI detective



This is one of those out of the box palettes for me, out of my comfort zone.  But I hve to admit I had a lot of fun with it.

You see I have this totally awesome photo of my cat Cobito

it is {in my opinion} worthy of the cover of Cat Fancy, LOL

Is the word this week at Our Beautiful World and we have a guest designer.  Our beloved Linda will be our guest this week and I truly can't wait to see what she has in store for us.  I just adore perusing over her blog, she has such a keen eye for photography and she is as sweet in person as she is on her blog!

Now for my photo of today

I used Picasa , black and white with a red filter for better contrast.  He is the man I love, my soul mate, the father of my children, my everything!

Other things I love you have seen here my children, my pets,  flowers, cooking, scrapbooking, sewing, photography...I guess I love too many things, LOL

I am a blessed and happy person!

On our first night in Rome we stumbled walking on this magnificent piazza, my patient husband sat there watching me for almost an hour while I used different settings in manual to capture a perfect image.  Since this was unplanned I didn't had my tripod with me and here I was improvising, changing the aperture, counting seconds, going back and forth until I was absolutely happy with the results.

This was inside the Vatican, this magnificent spiral staircase is a mirror image to a second one, given to the Vatican by the people of Firenze.  You can see my DH going downstairs, such a cool view!

Hi everyobody!  Happy Sunday to you all

It's Shahrul's word this week at OurBeautiful World and she picked chill!

Something cold comes to mind when I hear the word but it's probably not your kind of cold but the one needed to placate the heat.   You see our temps are in the 90's still and our favorite way of chilling is with a drink in hand as in a Piña Colada.

This world famous drink was invented in 1963 at Barrachina in Old San Juan Puerto Rico

it all begins with this, locally grown it produces the best juice I have ever tried

the brand is Lotus and it has been in production since 1862, the cream of coconut, another puertorican concoction was developed in 1948

here's the recipe

FIY the pineapple is the fruit of a bromeliad

so if you clean cut the top and you pit it in water it will root

on the windowsill and barely touching the water

this is a plant I have had for almost a year now, they take a long time to bloom, need a lot of sun too

so juicy and fresh and delicious

now isn't this the life... a perfect glass of piña colada to chill your afternoon, I prefer mine with no alcohol, but nothing beats puertorican rums...Bacardi, Don Q, they are all perfect for it

 

 

 



And nothing is complete without  a sweet escape...

Hey everyone, I am baaack!!!!

Just spent the morning pouring over all the AMAZING entries over at Our Beautiful world
the word is October and it is incredible to see all the different takes.  Pumpkins mingle with spring butterflies according to the appropiate hemisphere! go ck it out and share it with your friends.

October

I can't believe it is October already, where did the time go????

I have been slacking in my blog due to my workshop for the Breast Cancer Awareness.  Hopefully I will have time gain to go visit, comment and produce work of my own...

This is my October

I always produce a Scrap Pink event to support our health causes, it's the first thing that comes to mind when I think October.  Family wise it's my brother's birthday the 18th and then it's my fave Halloween....

Since I am sharing Puerto Rico stuff with you all at Our Beautiful World

then you should see and listen one of our everyday friends on the island.

This little guy is heard not at 5 AM but at 10:00 he always manages to sing at the same hour.

I was visiting dad and all of a sudden he began singing.  My dad grw up in a farm on the mountain side of the island, so he knows all the birds by their songs, he knows where they like to nest and its really interesting to sit down and listen to his stories.

Here's the one I emmediately located after my dad identified the song

Scrap Pink

La tienda se viste de rosa otra vez este sábado 5 de octubre todo el dia , comenzando a las 10:30AM.  Este año la actividad coincide con el dia mundial de la tarjeteria asi que decidi preparar un taller de tarjetas además del que siempre hago de página para el álbum.

Este conjunto lo hice para competir en el reto de CCCB, donde la propuesta es de trabajar un regalo y una tarjeta a juego.

This week we will be celebrating life and surviving at the store, there will be a workshop on Saturday going on all day.  Since World Card Making Day and the 5 K are on the same weekend.

I have done a set for the CCCb blog where the challenge is to make a matching gift and card.

A very special friend who moved to the states will receive this set in a kit so she can make it for her mom and they can both celebrate life!
