Yellow

Is our prompt this week at Our Beautiful WorldI.  I have been looking for unique shades of yellow you may enjoy while visiting our beautiful island of Puerto Rico.
Among all the thousand shades of greens you will see at our National Rainforest "El Yunque"
you will get the show stopping hue of yellow in a perfect, giant heliconia named
Caribbean Yellow
it can grow to 14' high, towering, impressive and beautiful!

these are the golden leaves of the " caimito" tree, the leaves have two colors and the fruit is delicious

here is a yellowing leaf from the star fruit tree, the lavender blossoms are the ones that will bear the gorgeous star shaped fruit

the mighty oak, full of blooms, not a leaf in sight

the flag of my hometown, with the mountains in the back
and a curious fiddler crab,  in a lighter shade of yellow

to finish this sweet yellow post a gorgeous yellow sunset!

Can't wait to see your yellow!!!!!

Comfy shoes

Hi everyone! Here again to share this cool blog from Russia keeping-the-best is their name and you can click on the link to see their fab place!
I made my page rotating the sketch
and used the CSI palette, kind of a fall vibe going on with it!

I fell in love while working with adding leaves to keep it real, like the place where I was standing,
they seem to come out of my pic!

I feel like I can listen to the crunch...
here's my journal, a promise to myself not to hurt me ever again by wearing high heels

And here's the sketch

and the palette

Go check it out and play!

Lucky

Hi everyone! So glad you are here! I have been inspired to work with a fab monochrome moodboard at scrap around the world.  And I have decided to combine it with the sketch and "Lucky" prompt over at OUAS
Here's my interpretation of both challenges

We were so lucky to be able to drive around Italy, it is an amazing country, so much to see I would love to spend months and months to be able to savor it all.  hummm specially the italian cuisine and wines, fresh produce and cheeses.
This particular afternoon we had a picnic on the grounds of the Torre Pendente, or leaning tower of Pisa, strawberries, cheese and wine, a topic for another page...
Our luck was so great we got to see the sun set against the tower, the fiery reds were captured in the towers marble like fire, it was so beautiful and in a way a lucky break.  We were not scheduled to arrive that afternoon, but it was Monday and the museums at Firenze were closed.  So we decided to drive to Pisa instead and arrived close to 4:00 PM just in time to sit down, relax and enjoy an amazing sunset!
The road signs are so fun, the italian resembles a lot our Spanish language so we had fun driving around

I used the memorabilia collection of Teresa Collins along with some Tim Holtz, tissue tapes and sheet.  I also used a Prima mask to stamp my swirly background inspired by the first image on the mood board

I had to use the TH pen nib, so old world charm
there is a Prima enamel dot heart for good measure, we are a couple in love, lucky that way too
18 1/2 years together, sooo much in common, best friends, parents, business partners, lovers..

I journaled on my black tag with some white ink, tucked nicely in a pocket made by my photographs
so here's the inspiration

and the sketch
Hope you find some time around the month to complete both or either challenge the sketch over at SATW is fantastic too if you want to use it here it is
fun they both provide for 3 photos!!!
Thanks again for dropping by, always lovely having you here,

Bubbles

Bubbles make me feel like a kid, there is something magical in seeing them grow while you blow. Even doing something as mundane as doing the dishes, transforms itself into fun the second a set of bubbles comes out of the spout of your dishwashing detergent!!!
We have a fabulous guest joining us this week, if you have been following us from the very beggining you may have already fallen in love with her photographs
her name is Liz and you will also love her blog!

 a bubble thief...
a macro shot

loving the way the sun hit her face

I should have turned this into a journal page, it looks so pretty...
but my girl makes it even prettier!
loving the architectural detail by Ingrild Bolme, I added just a slight touch of paint to accentuate the heart

my wandering journal in the shape of waves

the arrows pointing to her

and the full reveal I used the new sketch at scrapfriends
and the yummylicious csi palette!

Hope you can make time to play and as always HAPPY

September

Hi September! You know me well I have mixed feelings about you...
Although hurricane season is officially from June 1st to November 30th it is September the month we all dread the most, or fear, or don't want happening...
Yes it's paradise here until this monsters start forming in the west coast of Africa and end up here.
Specially since I live in the eastern part of the island,  we are in a constant alert when this month drops by.
My image this month is a screen shot I took of my computer and the announcement of the 2013 season, because this is what I think when the word September is heard.
And that right there is the eye of the hurricane on top of the Eastern Antilles, pretty close to Cuba.

I found this image on the web:

it tracks all the hurricanes from 1851 to 2012, scary huh?

I hope your September images give me hope and bring me sweet images in far away places, of neat things to do and see that don't scare me as this do.  So please please share them with us at
where the prompt for week 10 is September

Almost twins

Hi again! Busy week, just the way I like it!!!
Today I am dabbing in a foreign color for me, purple...I know someone who is
going to be very happy
I am following a palette for TCR
a rather gorgeous one, and here's my take
This is my DD with her cousin Lucas
these two could be twins, they even have the same dimple on the same cheek
And they just adore each other!

As you can see I had a lot of fun getting dirty with it!
here's the palette I think you still have one more day to play!

I love, love, love you

Hi!, me again...2nd post today, I promise it is short and sweet
You know sometimes I fuzz over stuff, keep adding not now, I love the simplicity of this one.
After I ran it through the sewing machine (it runs like a dream, thanks mom!)
and looked at it I thought it was perfect {blush}...
it's a mix of old ad new and it is inspired by this gorgeous image Charlene picked upp for the CCCB challenge this week
brand new Pebbles the gingham and sentiment, ancient Basic Grey the floral patttern
Maya Road eyelet and tulle trim
I think it looks as serene and peaceful as the bedroom, but that's me, let me know your thoughts

sometimes i wish it was yesterday

Seeing the colors of this special CSI case reminded me of an old album of mom and dad, back in 1963 when they were so much in love, before they even got married.
The new sketch is up at sketchbook365 and I thought it was perfect for what I had in mind.

This paper had an old, vintage vibe and the perfect hues
and this is how I treated it
first up a coat of gesso

next a yellow

and then a trio of blues in the color scheme

I am rather forn of how this background turned, sometimes its hard to cover it up, LOL!!!
Now for my evidence in solving the case
  •  clear photocorners
  • travel embellishments (suitcases)
  • circles (enamel dots on suitcase)
  • maps (layered paper behind my photo)

For my testimony I chose to journal in 3 journaling spots
handsome dad

lovely mother, she also matches the colors in the palette

after wrapping some threads in one of the suitcases I added this sticker "such is life"
2 suitcases because each went a separate way
here's the sketch
and here's the palette

I hope you find the time to play in either of this awesome challenges!!!
