Admit One...

just a note to thank the girls @ CCCB for the Spotlight!
Spotlight Artist Badge

Hi everyone, it is midweek already I do hope you enjoyed your weekend and that inspiration has come your way! It  has been so long since I've done a card...I was itching to make one and decided to join Ros at CCCB for their weekly challenge.  This week it is a ticket to ride and you are required to use some mode of transport and a ticket.  So here's my entry:
This balloons are just adorable they are hand cut from a BG paper, the ticket is from Prima and the pin is from Websters

And then I have been really busy working my DD Holy Communion so I am sharing a whole set I've done this week, firts one is based on Fi's sketch for the sketch a thon at Colorful Creations

I used papers from Bo Bunny, Prima and MME, flowers from Prima, alphas from AC and even a cameo from Websters
Here's the full view
Then I worked without a sketch just my inspiration flowing in and I have to tell you I just adore this page, it is almost ethereal, pure
I decided to go all out with the xacto , the fabric , the pearls I just loved pouring my heart here,
I even inked the resin heart above
This paper says "my story" and so I drew some swirls to tell the story behind the photo, how mom made her dress and it was part mine's, part hers and all the details of her special day.
Fe is the word for faith in Spanish, don't you just love that little praying angel!
I have recycled the pearls packaging here to mat my photos.
And here's the finished page pack full of Prima goodies
I guess I've done a page a day this week, let's see if I can keep it up with the inspiration
Have a blessed week, thanks for stopping by!

Cherished

My friend Fi has created a beautiful sketch for the sketch a thon over at  Colorful Creations .  I have given you the links so you can visit her and visit the ning site and participate.  Here's what I worked with
Don't you just love it?  I am already thinking about a masculine version for this!

I love the hexagon trend and this has given me the chance to play big time! I wanted to work the photo and flipped the hexagon to accomodate the full face of my DD.  That way I could fit her beautiful head piece made by her Grandmother and the vintage fan belonging to her that has already passed on to her.  Her sweet face was when she saw her best frien's little brother Federico. I love seeing her dimple when she smiles, but as you know she doesn't love the camera, LOL!

There was this little piece of the paper from Prima that said "a gentle breeze a quiet laugh" couldn't be more perfect for the photo !!!!!
some of the hand cut hexagons were cut with a puch so they resembled lace and one was embossed with Tim Holtz folder.  I made a gesso background using a Crafter's Companion mask and then painted it with Dylusions and ink. The swirls were cut with the Tim Holtz flourish.  Then after distressing the edges I ran it through the sewing machine.  Some fuzzy handcutting and here's the finished piece:
Thanks Fi for this beautiful inspiration, loved your sketch and I hope you like my interpretaion!

This Moment

It is May, a time to celebrate motherhood around the world.  I have been blessed with 2 precious children.  One not so little anymore, another that brightens my days and inspires me tons.  But behind this comes a huge responsibility.  Being entrusted with kids is no easy feast, that is if you want to raise them to be wonderful human beings.  Something not to be taken lightly.  Giving values, manners, love, faith is an ongoing process, one with no ends,  I know because mom still goes at it with me.  And I should just sit down and thank her (well I know she reads this ;) so it is a public THANKS!!!).  And although sometimes you just don't know if you are doing things right, litle surprises come along the way to prove your'e on the right track.
I have twtiched OUAS sketch to make this LO
The prompt this month was you as a mother.  I have chosen what kind of mom I want to be and although I am nowhere in sight on this LO's photo I am just right around the corner.  I journaled so much about those things that they ended up in the back of the page for her to read.  I do hope her faith continues to help her throughout her life as This Moment is just one of many.
I do hope God helps me be a better mother everyday, to give me patience and to guide my steps as I raise them.

the small journaling ;)

Instead of the banners I chose the birds on a branch
the challenges of light...the top one shows the texture of the page and the next one shows her
I have used the beautiful Songbird collection by Prima , the colors are so soft and sweet they were perfect for this moment!
I have done so much lately but it will have to wait, but I do hope you enjoyed the little bird on top as it is only found in Puerto Rico, the San Pedrito, so bold and pretty and small! And one more
some recycled cardboard with a CT mask with gesso and paint

Sharing my Mother's Day photo with my 2 treasures!
Hugs!

Growing with us

This is case No 18 from CSI
I have worked an interactive mixed media page as my best friend so perfectly puts it!
There is something to find underneath each petal.  For my evidence I have used an oversized flower.  I drew the flower and hand cut, sewed and inkd each petal.  They all move thanks to a tiny brad at the end.  I used leaves that I painted with Tim Holtz distress markers, it is crepe paper by Melissa Frances and believe me when I say it has a life of its own when you do what  i did, colored it in watercolors, it started to move and turn and I think it gave me a lot to play with in the end.

Hi!!! to all my readers

Here's the opened flower revealing some of his growing phases

I drew some tendrils coming out of the flower to write my testimony, it tells the story about how Solecito (little sun) came home as a newborn.  And how he has grown and given little Miss M a sense of responsibility and nurtured her inner motherhood.  She feeds it, changes him, plays with him.  It is a blessing to have him chirp around the house constantly.
Now you need to be a detective and find the full page here
Big hugs and thanks for being such awesome detectives, yours truly,

Milagros
