Happy New Year 2014!!!

Hi everyone today is our last post of the year at OBW!  We are celebrating a New Year and we can't wait to see how it looks in your part of the world!
Our family spends this time with close friends, our families are too far away to travel back on a night when sometimes it's scary to drive back home.
My husband loves fireworks and so he purchases the mother load of pyrotechnic stuff to play at night.
My daughter adores the little one that make stars in her hands and I love how the sky lights up!
This is what happened home last December 31st!

it's so bright you can see the palm trees right there on the right hand side!

May you have a Beautiful New Year and let there be

Peace on Earth!

Hugs from my family to yours and cheers to a beautiful 2014

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells!!!!

Hi everyone!!! It's the 19th of December already, have you made your Santa's letter yet?
Any special wishes in your list?
Today I am sharing a project I have made with the jingle bells challenge over at CCCB in mind.  You know how I love to make special cushion covers in Christmas... This year the minute my eyes laid out on these dies my mind was soaring...
My piece is called "Waiting for Santa"
I cut my pieces in wool

I love how it looks at night, I will take a daylight photo for you later, I just finished embroidering this and it's already night fall here

I used some sequins to embellish my dearies and then I embroidered some tiny red jingle bells in their harness

Mrs. Walton made this guys so majestic and beautiful and they cut so well

I decided to add a jingle to the center of my poinsettia as well

loving this!!!!

her letter to Santa!
Hope you have an awesome day!   Remember tomorrow is my Friday CSI design team reveal, so do come by to see a classic palette!

Hugs

Cozy

Hi everyone, Beautiful Sunday here, finally some sun to grace our skies! How about you?
It's a brand new week for us at Our Beautiful World and our word come from our lovely Ros, she has asked us to use the word cosy/cozy, don't know how they go about it in England.
Luckily last week it was raining cats and dogs here so I had the need to get cozy and nothing better here than with a perfect cup of coffee...
so what brings you comfort when the need to get cozy hits? Do share it with us, we can't wait!!!
Hugs

Seasons Greetings

Have you seen this months sketch over at life.paper.scrapbook?
I think it has so many possibilities, specially since you can place several holiday photos!!!
I used Crate Paper's Bundled up collection , not because there's any bundling needed here, LOL, but because it's so darn cute!
the palette of colors we were dressed in was perfect for it!
And it even matched a Snow Day tree from Christmas pasts...of course from CP too

I had cut my tags and title

purple courtesy of my brother in law...pink Thanks to my son!

and here's the great sketch to inspire you
Thanks for coming by and visiting!!!!

Open me First!

Hi everyone! I was supposed to be on holiday and ended up not going.  Still too personal to share, hope you understand.  As proven again and again, scrapbooking is my therapy, nothing like taking a few pieces of paper and stamps to take my mind elsewhere.  Today I had time to play in a couple places, this being one of my faves CCCB.
Their challenge is to work with a palette of kraft, red and white, I swear it's there, as you have seen plenty of kraft from me lately, LOL
So here's a few tags I made that are sure to come handy in the next few days, hope they inspire you to make some of your own!
I used a Hampton Art set of stamps, my trusty Sizzix machine for the heart and tags and a few embossing powders

And I got carried away by the "kraftiness"
this combo is so adorable and perfect for the season
color box has an ink min "suede" that gives the perfect kraft hue when stamped in white

and of course my DD has a gift to give at school so she is taking the first one and it matches her present beautifully.  She was so proud of her first wrapping job with the green, I know she will further embellish it but this is it for now!
hugs and see you on the next post that is almost ready to publish

Stillness

Happy Sunday!
It's a brand new week and as you read this I am somewhere else far away on holiday with my DH!
It's a brand new word for us at Our Beautiful World, Our lovely Wendy has chosen the word stillness.
Recently we were strolling at my sons school gardens, it is an Abbey/School and the monks tend to this beautiful pond.  So still and perfect...
if you come in the early morning, the pond graces you with night blooms, they are open
until 9:45 AM, so you get to see the whole spectrum

I can totally see why Monet was so inspired to paint his masterpieces!
Hugs and can't wait to see your stillness

Joy, Love, Peace

Hey everyone! Friday already!!!! and a new CSI case for you to play with!
For my evidence I have used circles, silver accents, something transparent, Christmas accents
and something shiny

For my testimony I handwrote my journaling and framed it!

I was inspired by the photo and the word peace, so I used it in my design

Here's the palette
And I have used the fab December sketch over at scrapfriends!

Enjoy your weekend everyone, I will be out a couple of days
but I will be back!!!!

Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas

Hi everyone!
Today I am excited to share a sweet page done for the Kraft it up challenge.  One of those effortless pages that flow, just because you have the right photo, the right colors and the right state of mind.  No sketches just a perfect palette to work with
The December challenge is to create a layout using one of these two fabulous non traditional color schemes

AQUA/KRAFT/WHITE/SILVER
OR
PINK/KRAFT/WHITE/GOLD

I chose the later just because I can't resist pink, plus it was a mom/daughter page!

I chose a Prima mask with some yummy paste.  I wanted it to represent a wreath

Then I started embellishing with some wood pieces I embossed in Queens gold

I used a sweet stamp by Basic Grey to accentuate my twine also embossed in gold
My friend Anastacia gave me those sweet pearls, she wanted me to see what I could do with them, so this one's for You!

This metal band by Tim Holtz is from one of my faves Christmas songs ever, it was the perfect title for my page

I hope you get inspired to play and remember you can not combine this challenge with anything else.
Have fun and thanks for stopping by!
