Celebrate your Traditions!

For 8 years I had an only child a darling boy that I still adore. Christmas meant boy themed decorations. My tree had Power Rangers, Batman, Superman, every action hero you could ever think a boy wanted. For 13 years it has grown and changed, Star Wars, Fairly Odd Parents, Sponge Bob and so forth. The only thing that remains a constant are the little soldiers...my nutcracker collection that started on his first Christmas. This Sizzix die was CALLING my name. I decided to do another card just because you need to celebrate your traditions, keep close what is in your heart, one day my teenager will be a fully grown man with a family of his own and God knows how many nutcracker I will have collected by then...all for his new little family to keep.

Be yourself!

There's plenty to share, this is St. Mathew's Parrish, built in 1773, National Monument. My son had a school project on the parrish, we learned so much and he was honored by helping during mass reading the second lecture.
Miss M had the pony's with dad. And I had a blast as a witch in Halloween, look real close and you'll see the feathers in my lashes. Here's this week's take on Kazan's sketch. Great message for all of us: Be yourself everyone else is already taken!

My Halloween was spooktacular!!! Filled with the best of friends. We had a perfect start with the kids helping me to make breakfast. No more sugar rush and while we played a match of Blokus we searched for November Page Maps. Here's my work for this month.

Nourish your soul

Hi it's been a while, had no camera, can you imagine the backlog of work I have to share... Anywho I made a card for Kazan'a sketch inspired in all the goodness coming our way. The kids are ready for Halloween, soon it will be time to spend with our families giving thanks for keeping us together and making us stronger and then my favorite of all Christmas and all it's wonderful meaning. So nourish your soul, your mind and brace yourself for all the wonderful things coming your way! I am sharing the house I made as seen on the Basic Grey Gallery. This week we are celebrating Scrap Pink, we will have agreat LO for you guys to do while you contribute to the cause. The card was made using Laura's sketch. By using the Slice Pink card for the ribbon and the card's opening. TFL!

Fab wedding

My cousin Liza married this weekend, it was such a fabulous wedding, such a beautiful setting. We wish them endless happiness.
For this week Kazan made a great sketch that I decided to turn into a frame. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Full Speed Ahead

Our weekend was a bliss, a trip to Flamenco Beach in Culebra, PR, one of the best 10 beaches of the world!!! Guess the pictures can tell why. Miss M enjoyed her cold cocunut water. More photos to post later.
I made a card for a friend of a friend who is retiring, I used Kazan's sketch with the rollercoaster paper from MME. She wanted me to use that cool car, as he collects antique cars I could not resist putting the jst chillin image inside. Happy Retirement!!!

Boo!

This week we worked on an awesome surfboard cake, it took my whole kitchen by storm. Little Miss M was excited and wanted to play with the frosting, proud mama reports she did a row of perfect swirls.
Then we played with MME, happy the papers are finally here. And Laura made a great sketch this week so I was compelled to use the new MM ghosts for her, enjoy!

Oh, how I loved this weeks sketch. I got carried away with the bling..Got to love the new Eskimo by BG. And me and my DD working on a coming soon project...Have a great week, I'm busy playing!!!!

Thinking of you

How appropriate, the title of my card. I made it for Kazan's sketch. I had the pleasure of meeting her at CHA. What an honor!

I wanted to try my hand @ making a grungeboard rose and I had no stamp so I had to draw the thing and wish me some luck. I ended up adhering the rose with some wood glue to hold it better. So it's your turn to be the judge. And of course thinking of Kazan I used a Spellbinder die instead of a ribbon and used my May Art to make some leaves!

Loved this weeks sketch by Kazan. I really got involved hand stitching the felt, embroidering french knots, glittering...
Some new LO's and the kids with Lidy having a grand picnic @ the store, thanks for such great food, loved my wrap.
As we were talking today this is the best hobby, we get to paint, sew, embroider and play with our photos. Viva el scrapbooking!
Since my camera is not being very cooperative ( "jumped" from the hands of a 4 yr old) I cannot take better pictures but please click on the card so you can see all the textures.

Thinking of you

I made the pink card for a friend that wants to give it to an old friend. Inside it holds an invitation from her from 1961, how cool is that! I also used the sketch to decorate a bottle for my husband on father's day with his favorite brew.

Laura & Kazan are celebrating their first anniversay with a card showdown. The first sketch is by Laura and here is my take.
What up? card is a refreshing, summer version for a teenager card. I wanted to use vibrant colors to reflect a certain personality, that of my favorite 16 yr.old friend!

My Wish

El domingo me entere que el banner de verano fue escogido en el Fab 5 de 2s4y!!! y la tarjeta que hize bajo el titulo de varios, asi como My wish LO estan ahora en la galeria de Basic Grey, asi que ando muy feliz, este LO no lo habia compartido todavia. Lo hize utilizando un sketch de Becky Fleck a lo Milly. Espero que lo disfruten se que para los chicos se nos hace bien dificil.

Verano

"Verano"/ Summer, this week I decided to turn Kazan's sketch into a banner to welcome summer into my house. Loved the sketch to do it that way, and loved Lime Rickey from BG to bring that happy feeling home.
2 summer LO's using Great Escape by MM, can't decide which one I loved the most, but it is so nice how they decided to incorporate the package into recyclable items. Like for instance, the sticker circle in the corner of my blue LO, it comes from their pins package, how cool is that?

Twinkle,twinkle, little star

I love stars for boys, so I challenged myself to create a card using the stars in Kazan's sketch to do something girly. You be the judge, I used Anna Griffin's baby papers that have a fabric feeling.

All star Dad!

Back from spring break, we went around the island, photos are from Guanica at the south western end, including Aurora Cay, better known as Gilligan Island. We had such a beautiful weather, clear skies, sunny, breezy days,and just look at that water, crystal clear, you could see the fishies from the top, no goggles/mask needed, please forgive me but I want to go back. It will take me forever to post the zillion photos per day.
Diego is finally a teen, whatever that represents, which I don't want to think! he is also my height already, so soon... He had a blast for his birthday at the Conquistador Hotel's waterpark with his best buddies form school. One funky LO from Ms. Mercedes and a card for Laura's sketch over @ 2S4U !

To my dear Kazan, please read the previous post, I so wanted you to meet my Mercedes, she's 4, doing your card challenge. We did it on time I just couldn't post in on time. Of course my work for sketch 23.
Now imagine yourself with a cup of coffee at 7:00 AM walking outside to this view, just what we had in the western part of our beautiful island, Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.
One LO, "Paraiso"/Paradise of what we did, the kids running in the dock having fun.
And me with my new makeover, what do you think??? Like 3 pounds of hair on the floor after the haircut, LOL.

Pensando en ti

"Thinking about you", Spanish Memories paper and chipboard. LO made with their new collecion "Instantes" and in the right hand corner of the photo you can see their rub ons; they were featured this month at Scrapbooks etc and Creating Keepsakes and although they didn't say it they spread like buter! I have them available at the store so if any of you are interested in adding a little Spanish flair to your projects let me know by leaving a post and I'll contact you with more details.

Last week I didn't have the chance to post Mercedes's work for Kazan's challenge because I had an out of state visit. It was so much fun working with my little talented girl. She is 4 and she enjoys stamping and creating as much as her mom, you can see some of her creations in one of the photos using my scraps!
