My Family

We had a very special weekend, my aunt turned 80 and her children gave her a wonderful birthday bash.  One of those you are thrilled to go because you know you will spend time with loved ones you haven't seen in a while.
I hope some of her genes rub on me! You can not definately tell her age!!!
She is also my Godmother and the sweetest person you'll ever meet!

The weekend before was mom's birthday and this is one of those rare ones where there's a photo of the whole family.  We had a fabulous lunch with mom in this awesome rest La Colina360 located in my hometown Morovis, PR.  You can see from the north part the Atlantic Ocean and from the south the beautiful mountain region

I used enamel to do my title work and I love the depth and shine it brings

the palette was inspired by The Color Room #138
Picture

A very elegant palette, very classy
I also used Rachael's challenge over at Colorful Creations
to use 2 photos, ribbon, brads/buttons, sewing, matting, distressing
check on all that!!!

And here's a peek of a new one I made of mom with all of us!
Hope you enjoy this wonderful week!

I'll be home for Christmas

It's a beggining of a new week and the challenge over at
CCB is based on my favorite Christmas song  I'll be home for Christmas
and the inspiration photo couldn't be sweeter!!!

It is Violeta's birthday today
last year I handpainted a Christmas ornament for her
This year I decided to build her a sweet little house as a present
Inspired by the photo I used pure whites and soft pinks
shimmer and sparkle mixed away to create
a cozy and shabby little home.

I used Cuttlebugs new embossing folder Christmas Stitches
so sweet like a handmade quilt
with the liquid pearls I painted some pink
and xactoed my windows and doors in shimmery pink cardstock

There's ton of Melissa Frances here, don't you just love the tiny pink tree
it's a mere 1 3/4" tall with the wooden base that I painted Ivory

the roofs were made using glitter cardstock in a
silver color

the tinsel is also Melissa Frances

Full view of the sweet home for Christmas

Thanks for stopping by

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone! just checking in to share a little project I made today
for the TSTR.  The theme this week is
'Sweet Shabby Christmas'
and it has the most gorgeous inspiration photo!!!

they are sooo me, I could have these 3 little darlings on my bedside table to wake up every
Christmas morning in a shabby, pastel, sweet mood!
adorable....
So you know how much pink inspires me and if it also need some glitter and shimmer
the happier I am!
I decided to cut the new Spellbinders Christmas tree in a satin pink cardstock
and then trim it like there's no tomorrow.
I also used Tim Holtz banner die to stamp and emboss in silver my Christmas sentiment
I just love how shabby it looks, of course some distress inking makes it stand out.

here's a closer look of how the front opens up!

top view with all the trimmings

Since the final piece of my tree made it so special
I decided to make it into a box.
Using My scoreboard I made a giant matchbox to open from the front.
I used a Melissa Frances tinsel trim for my pull knot.
It's home to a fantastic inspirational book:
"Everyday Comfort"
spiritual reflections for women

The box was made out of shimmer cardstock in pink, layered with glitter cardstock in a silver hue
and then topped with the card base in white.
Now if they made some mercury glass so Icould trim my paper tree...

I hope you have enjoyed my creation
as much as I did creating it!!!

Hugs

A special bond

Hey everyone it's a new week, at least for me, LOL, with
voting going on in the country we all were free
from work and school.
I hope you made time to vote
this week I am playing with scrapfriendsthey have these amazing sketches
you just have to go and check them out!
Since I found them at Fi's it's only fair I did her color palette challenge at CC!

After using the sketch with the color palette Fi provided
I did all the twist, the photo is matted on canvas
wet mediums used are Dylusions in crushed grape and modeling paste with a Prima mask for the circle.  I also used twine (more fibre) behind the photo wrapped in a circle shape.
The journaling is of course related to the photo and title.

here's the sketch, yummy!
and more details for you to look!

sparkling bling!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

Bo Bunny Love Letters Je t'aime!

Hi everyone, it's a new week, almost Halloween, and here I am working with love...

This is the new palette at TCR
and my crop shows exactly that the red, teal, silver and white!
I love the silver book plates from Teresa Collins old release, I just needed that
for my silver
the red and teal beaded flowers are from Prima totally gorgeous!
and the papers and chipboard embellie are from the new Love Letters collection by Bo Bunny
TDF cute and with the perfect colors!
Picture
the inspiration is beautiful, I love that branch in the photo with the hanging ornaments
I wish I had one at home, it looks so special...
That inspired me to pick my Prima wood branch and use it to hang some hearts
And here's my page! I was inspired by Laura Whitaker's sketch over at CC

Hope it puts you in a happy mood, I sure love it!

Hugs,

My little Halloween Villa

It's almost Halloween and I can't wait!!!!
After receiving my Once Upon a Halloween collection I just had to do a project.
I decided to add to my villas collection and made me a house.
It's a fancy one, mind you

All my windows are sugared in Glow in the dark glitter
the gorgeous bags were hand cut from paper and properly accesorized

the goo had to come from the roof
the cameo was handpainted
and given a proper casing with a Spellbinders die and more bling,
of course

my chimney needed a guardian,
can you think of a better one? NOT this gorgeous green owl was my FAVE
and the smoke was sugared too

I also needed some "greenery" and another bird

the Villa's keeper, making sure everything is tidy
around here!!!
If you want to play you can visit me at my use your stash challenge here at Colorful Creations!
Be sure to comeback for more Halloween surprises
like the Glow in the Dark roject I made for
Papeles y Mas magazine

Spooky hugs to ya

Happy

I have admired Britt's style for a very long time, I love the way she incorporates her hand cut photographs of her children on her pages in scenes craftily made.  To my surprise this weeks sketch at skissedilla is made by her, check it out!

After seeing some photos I had taken recently from Miss M I saw one that caught my eye as to be a candidate for this.  She was twirling in a tulle dress and she looked perfect for the sketch
I loved working this whimsical style and fuzzy cutting my way around the foliage and the picnic basket. The big flower atop a die cut piece from Spellbinders represents my sun in this little scene.
I used the CSI palette #40 as my cue for colors.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Life

Hi everyone, so sorry about the long absence, there was some family illness and I could not sit down to post the way I wanted.  After this long hiatus brace yourself because this will be post # 1 of the day and more is on the way.
It's been a long time since I last played at OUAS so I decided to stop by their blog and see the new sketch and see where my inspiration would take me.
This quote is the inspiration this month
great life quote.
so, so perfect for me, love the sentiment behind this, and being I carry my camera with me at all times it is something I could very much relate too.
I decided to use Life as the title and then I wrote the complete quote behind the negative film strip
One of my favorite ways to journal is to draw swirls in my page and then follow the line and write around them

Gotta love that dancing little one from Webster's!

I also layered around my photo with some tulle, from the Once upon a Halloween collection
Unreal that it is beyond cute!!! with a gold trim at the end

And here is the full view, I have to say doing the sketch got my cretive juices flowing and I loooved the end result

Thanks so much for visiting, you always make my day!
