Happy Easter!

Hi everyone! happy to share I am
this week, yayyyy, and this week the girls at the TSTR have the most gorgeous inspiration photo for you to work with.  You know my "stitchy" fingers are dying to work on this!!!
For their theme Lovely Layers
what a superb fabric piece
and then they have added this fabulous sketch for you to base your project or card on

I had real big plans on making a step by step tutorial for you, but something went wrong with my sd card and I lost the process of making it
But I promise I will tell you what I did one by one
1.cut 5 strips of 1" x12" of cardstock
2.get your hands on a tea cup of water, keep it REAL CLOSE and wet your paper @ the top
cardstock and heavy patterned papers work best because they can sustain the water and the manipulation that follows.
once you have the tops wet,
3. start pleating your paper as if it was fabric.
You will find that by having it wet, it really feels like canvas in your hands.
4.Leave them out to dry, they will dry real hard and WILL stay the way you pleated them!
If you have no patience, (like it happens to me sometimes) use your embossing heat gun and be careful not to burn your paper.
5. Start stitching your paper from the bottom up, I'd rather not glue as they are HEAVY, plus since they look like fabric why not go the extra mile.

see what I tell you, it looks like canvas but its Bazzill French Vanilla 12x12 paper!

I hope you will give this a try, if you do let me know here on the blog so that I can go and check it out!

Hope you have a blessed Easter with your family

Art Journal feel

Hi everyone!
Today I was experimenting again with my gelatos and dylusions
inspired by this gorgeous palette over at scrapfriends
it's a very sunny one, so adorable
and here's what I have come up with
I was totally inspired by Felicity's entry on art journals

I did a lot of random stitching  and it all began because I only had a small piece of the blue, so I thought why not incorporate the rest of the palette on my stiches!

the palette
and the final product

This was a lot of fun to put together, the colors are so juicy and yummy they just beg to be played with.  I used sme scraps from Bella Blvd and an ols dial stamp by 7Gypsies to help me document along the way.
Hope you find time to play!!!

Easter is coming

Hi everyone, it's been a week since my last post,
Easter is almost here and I  wanted to play with this cute stamp.
Have to admit I finally caved in into painting stamps.
It's rather addictive since I started I have done watercolors, gelatos and distress inks.
This is my entry for TSTR this week is anything goes, so here she is
also anything goes as well on AGC and they are seeing double with their 88
so I went double on my Spellbinder and repeated the pattern
I used delicious worn lipstick for her dress, boots and cheeks in various shades
spiced marmalade and mustar seed for the chick, tumbled glass for the sky
Various shades of shabby shutters for my grass and  tea dye for her face and hair

I used a spellbinder base for her painting and the card
and the easel is paper too, cut in my big shot, just adore that piece!!!!

a peek at the inside! Are you seeing double???

Will share more soon, hugs

Little one

Hi everyone!
It's a beautiful Saturady here in paradise, the past 2 days were gloomy and overcast
so bad for photo taking...
the girls @ TSTR have a white plus one challenge with this inspiration photo
frame it is their challenge this week
and here's my take, I chose a rahter pale pink, Bazzill's "tutu pink" and it has been very difficult to photograph in its true colors
I cut and emboss the frame and baby cameo

it is so delicate and pretty for a new born baby girl!
hope you have a gorgeous weekend

Short and Sweet

Hi everyone!
it has been a very productive week so far, I have played yet again with some paint (Gelatos)
and the new stencil by Ronda Palazzari for TCW
inspired by this weeks palette over at TCR
Picture

those colors were absolutely delish and I couldn't resist
I used them on the mask in the order they appeared on the palette
the stencil is on the right hand side white on white

I also used the Stamper's Big Brush for the first color

then I heavily saturated the paper in order to make the colors bleed

and here's the finished piece

Thanks so much for stopping by yet again this week, LOL!!!

Handsome

2 posts in one day!!! I have to make up for the lack of postings in February, LOL
Here's the new sketch over at Scrapfriends and it's just awesome

I had this snapshot I took of my DH in AZ, the contrast of that wall was too shabby to resist
and this is what I did
I left my stitching threads hanging, just loved the effect the loose threads gave to the page

there's a ton of new stuff here from Jenni Bowlin and echo park and that camera paper clip by Prima that is irresistible! the tiny paper clip with the date is by Tim Holtz

the ink splatters were done with actual india ink.
I hope you have enjoyed my interpretation of the sketch!
See ya'

Spring

Hi Everyone! I am excited to share a new project for Spring.   You know how I love home decor and how I always do something to pretty up the house!
Well as I opened my emails I saw the new March tag from Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2013and I was inspired to create a welcome sign for the entrance door.

Back in February I made a LO using the TH tags die and I staggered them and thought
it would be neat if I could somehow do it here.
Love u

For my hanger I used the TH tattered floral and the flourish dies

I loved how Tim used the grass and that's the one die I don't have so instead I used some pinking shears at the top and then followed with my scissors at various lenghts

I am SO happy with the end results and my door looks so happy and ready for spring!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Totally, good times!

Hi everyone and welcome March!
The beggining of spring and beautiful blooms all around us, so are you ready for a weekend getaway?
that's this months theme over @ OUAS
You need to document about a getaway, so how about our gorgeous island of Culebra, Puerto Rico?
That's our special escape whenever we have a special weekend coming on
sohere's a few pics I am sharing and my documentation talks about bringing your camera, sunblock and bathing suit. for an unforgettable getaway in gorgeous white sandy beaches and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

I have recycled the packaging of the new Prima blings for the backing of my pics

if this doesn't show fun in a nutshell I don't know what does????
I have used a mask with gesso and done my journaling around the swirls

This water is sooo inviting!

OUT FOR PUBLICATION
WILL BE BACK

Enjoy your weekend everyone and thanks for stopping by!
