I can't believe it is October already, where did the time go????
I have been slacking in my blog due to my workshop for the Breast Cancer Awareness. Hopefully I will have time gain to go visit, comment and produce work of my own...
This is my October
I always produce a Scrap Pink event to support our health causes, it's the first thing that comes to mind when I think October. Family wise it's my brother's birthday the 18th and then it's my fave Halloween....
Since I am sharing Puerto Rico stuff with you all at Our Beautiful World
then you should see and listen one of our everyday friends on the island.
This little guy is heard not at 5 AM but at 10:00 he always manages to sing at the same hour.
I was visiting dad and all of a sudden he began singing. My dad grw up in a farm on the mountain side of the island, so he knows all the birds by their songs, he knows where they like to nest and its really interesting to sit down and listen to his stories.
Here's the one I emmediately located after my dad identified the song
a wee bit camera shy but you can see him alright
and here's the bird watcher...with his grandson
Here are some links for you to listen to the "Ruiseñor"
And here is the link for the birds of PR.He is a Northern Mockingbird.
Since our climate is very mild all year long the island offers a safe heaven for migratory birds from all over the world looking for a perfect place to nest and feed.
Now shoe me your October if you please!!! Share it with us at
Hugs

I loveeeeee these!!
How neat that you were able to snap him in action!. I can't view the birdsong, maybe I'll try later. I can't see Kirsty video too, something is right with my laptop :(. I LOVE listening to birdsongs, I have one video, a full hour of birdsong playing in the background while I'm online :). LOVE the pink bracelets!
Thanks for your OCTOBER share, it is nice to know what's going on over at your side!
Good on you for being so actively involved in supporting the breast cancer cause:):) Puerto Rico looks LOVELY at this time of year, too.....missing your creations, hope you get back into it soon:):):)
What a cute and reliable friend sitting in the trees! Your October looks gorgeous - hope it continues to be like this and wish you lots of success with your breast cancer awareness activities.
I love that your dad can identify all the bird songs! That is becoming a lost art, I'm afraid. Sounds like you have quite the busy month, my friend! Busy, but very happy. Enjoy!
Love your shots ... I've never seen a mockingbird let alone heard one sing
i loved being able to follow the link to be able to hear this birds calls and song (which was very pretty)~!!
isn't it a special thing that your dad is able to identify so many birds by their song~!? and that he shares this information with you so that you too will be able to know what you are hearing~! wonderful~!!
i hope that your breast cancer awareness work goes very well and good for you for joining in to help beat this terrible illness.
