One Sweet Ride!

Hi, me again to share a new project I made using the new baby line by Crate Paper "Little Boy Blue"

of course here I am breaking the rules as my son is not a baby anymore.

But I thought it had so many possibilities...

Loved the chipboard shapes, the new burlap letters by American Crafts...

some washi tape by "Hambly" :( and some buttons and the wooden shapes for a frame!

It takes 2 to play all day, love this papers so colorful and fun, and so like them!

ANd here is my son with my nephew, so sweet

Follow your Heart

Hi all. It has been an exciting week! As you can see from the blog hop announcement and from the badge from CC, I know proudly belong to their DT, so excited to take this adventure to new levels!!!

One of our challenges there at CC is to create a card inspired by Karen's card. I loved her butterfly and I also wanted to play over at CCCB since Cheryl

is hosting a time after time challenge there.

I chose this gorgeus stamp by Prima and decided to color it with Tim Holtz distress markers. And let me tell you I had F-U-N!!!

Since the stamp already had a clock in it I decided to xacto it and add a MM clock transparency for more impact. In its own way it fits iSpy challenge this week also!

here is a close up of what I did with the stamp, just loved playing with it!

Next up is a back in time photograph of my then baby with her Grandpa.

For some reason I never scrapped these photographs and they were perfect for this palette of grays and pinks with a hint of red...

I loved putting it all together, I cut like 4 different pp, then I used new Crate Paper, the dots in the back were done with Gesso and then flocked with velvet. I just wish you could feel them...

I wanted to show you my hidden journaling, it moves and hides behind the photos and papers but it is all there....

I am so sorry about the 5 'o clock shadow but it was the best light I had all day and since the flowers are so bulky they created a shadow...

As you may remeber from my previous post I started the Mapping Happiness

journey with Christine's instructions. I loved the concept and decided it was something we needed to be reminded of the happy and blessed moments we get to enjoy in life.

The Caribou card was so fun to make, although I didn't follow a particular size, or orientation for that matter, LOL I ended up making a horizontal version and adding here and there different things. But experimenting with the glitter and the hand cut circles was so much fun!

This photo is from one of my favorite places ever, a place that brings me so much comfort and happiness. It is a small island off the Eastern Coast of Puerto Rico named Culebra. Whenever we go I just go into a state of pure bliss. We got the chance to visit again this past Sunday and we snorkeled among green turtles and spotted eagle rays

So it was a fantastic day we enjoyed as a family and I don't want to forget, a true happy memory!

Well since I didn't have Christine's stamps I decided to improvise and doodle with a white gel pen,

I painted the circles with Dylusions ink sprays, the color saturation is incredible and to me they scream Caribbean

I went with Bubble gum pink, squezzed orange (turned up covered...) and fresh lime, for the turquoise I used a Kaisercraft acrylic paint, for the gold I went with a Krylon pen and then sprinkled some gold glitter, yum...

my butterfly is a wooden specimen from Studio Calico, the tag is American Crafts, the gray base is Crate Paper, the ivory base is recycled button carton (refer to my previous post), Making Memories transparencies, BG tags, Echo Park rulers, Queen and Co twine, sugared pearl by Pebbles and arrow by Smash (K&Co)

I can't wait for the next experiment, in the meantime I will keep writing down my happy moments!

I should make you play the guess what OA collection I used as I used several ;)

I just loved adding bits and pieces to this!

I documented around the page , and just loved how it sort of says "play games at the beach"

"C" is for Caimito

Linda @ CCCB is hosting the challenge this week and it is buttons, buttons... and she wants at least 5 buttons on the project. I fell in love with the inspiration photo and her gorgeous work. It reminded me that years ago I was browsing wih my mom at a notions store when we stumbled upon some mother of pearl buttons. They were on sale and I figured I needed the whole lot, LOL. Well the thing is they have been sitting there in their cute little cartons and been used as needed. So I decided to alter me a holder and just show them off

This is what I came up with, the "B" for buttons tag was created by recycling the carton. And you can tell how my shelf keeps looking better and better!

So I enlisted my handy helper who gracefully went through all the packaging and help me put them on the glass jar!

This is the top view, I stamped the canvas with some archival ink and then sew the required 5 buttons! I painted and distressed the lid to a pretty cream.

People know me as a flower lover, they are in almost anything I do, cards, LO's, they are planted in my house and admired by my lens. So I have decided to challenge myself and sit them out of this one. I wanted to create a girly piece without any blooms, (WHAT???) ME!!!! no way. Well I did it , I scrapped with details instead, no bling either, crazy, huhhh? well some pearls but hey, a girl needs something...

so here's the scoop, punch border, buttons, washi tape for the translucent effect, monogram

I decided to top it off with some Epiphany Crafts epoxy sticker and then added a circle by Graphic 45 and on top of that I layered some glossy accents (and it was popped) . A pearl on my C.

I just read this morning on Audrey's blog that Christine was going to do a summer tutorial on Mapping Happiness

Just love that logo... and can't wait to start playing so here's my map, a 12x12 version of her 2'x3'!

And here is the famous "caimito" fruit

I was happy to see they used the photo I shared!

This fruit bearing tree is from the Major Antilles, it can also be found in Central America. It can grow to a 100 feet and it is famous for its golden leaves, well green on one side , golden on the reverse and it is so beautiful when hit by the wind. You can also use the leaves for teas, they seem to help with diabetes. The round gorgeous fruit is deliciously sweet

and when you open it crosswise it has a star pattern!

The girls at CCB are celebrrating the ballet Coppelia, there is this glorious image of a Ballerina doing her magic. I was inspired to create a little bit of magic myself. And wanted to do something to help me in the " organizing department", so I transformed a recycled box, I tell you my shelf is looking quite pretty with the efforts!

I used this gorgeous paper by Melissa Frances and some from Prima and the gorgeous tulle bloom inspired by the ballerina's tutus and some pearls because a girls gotta have some...

on a separate note, the new header photo is the classic sign that summer arrived here in Puerto Rico, the blooms of the flamboyan tree are a sure sign of summer, just love them and thought I share with you!

For the boys

Finally this is a boy only post !!! long overdue, I was looking for inspiration to work my sons Confirmation pictures. And decided to go with Sketchabilities, #72

Confirmation is a Catholic Sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. It is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation for Catholics. It is most often associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
And it is a ceremony done by the Bishop. It is a very special day for us.

Since I was so inspired by the pics and the papers decided to go to the next one and also worked sketch 71

here's my version.

I decided to substitute the cluster of blooms for the canvas and paper banners and move my journal to the side of each photo to document the ceremony.
