Easter is coming

Hi everyone, it's been a week since my last post,
Easter is almost here and I  wanted to play with this cute stamp.
Have to admit I finally caved in into painting stamps.
It's rather addictive since I started I have done watercolors, gelatos and distress inks.
This is my entry for TSTR this week is anything goes, so here she is
also anything goes as well on AGC and they are seeing double with their 88
so I went double on my Spellbinder and repeated the pattern
I used delicious worn lipstick for her dress, boots and cheeks in various shades
spiced marmalade and mustar seed for the chick, tumbled glass for the sky
Various shades of shabby shutters for my grass and  tea dye for her face and hair

I used a spellbinder base for her painting and the card
and the easel is paper too, cut in my big shot, just adore that piece!!!!

a peek at the inside! Are you seeing double???

Will share more soon, hugs

Little one

Hi everyone!
It's a beautiful Saturady here in paradise, the past 2 days were gloomy and overcast
so bad for photo taking...
the girls @ TSTR have a white plus one challenge with this inspiration photo
frame it is their challenge this week
and here's my take, I chose a rahter pale pink, Bazzill's "tutu pink" and it has been very difficult to photograph in its true colors
I cut and emboss the frame and baby cameo

it is so delicate and pretty for a new born baby girl!
hope you have a gorgeous weekend

Short and Sweet

Hi everyone!
it has been a very productive week so far, I have played yet again with some paint (Gelatos)
and the new stencil by Ronda Palazzari for TCW
inspired by this weeks palette over at TCR
Picture

those colors were absolutely delish and I couldn't resist
I used them on the mask in the order they appeared on the palette
the stencil is on the right hand side white on white

I also used the Stamper's Big Brush for the first color

then I heavily saturated the paper in order to make the colors bleed

and here's the finished piece

Thanks so much for stopping by yet again this week, LOL!!!

Handsome

2 posts in one day!!! I have to make up for the lack of postings in February, LOL
Here's the new sketch over at Scrapfriends and it's just awesome

I had this snapshot I took of my DH in AZ, the contrast of that wall was too shabby to resist
and this is what I did
I left my stitching threads hanging, just loved the effect the loose threads gave to the page

there's a ton of new stuff here from Jenni Bowlin and echo park and that camera paper clip by Prima that is irresistible! the tiny paper clip with the date is by Tim Holtz

the ink splatters were done with actual india ink.
I hope you have enjoyed my interpretation of the sketch!
See ya'

Spring

Hi Everyone! I am excited to share a new project for Spring.   You know how I love home decor and how I always do something to pretty up the house!
Well as I opened my emails I saw the new March tag from Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2013and I was inspired to create a welcome sign for the entrance door.

Back in February I made a LO using the TH tags die and I staggered them and thought
it would be neat if I could somehow do it here.
Love u

For my hanger I used the TH tattered floral and the flourish dies

I loved how Tim used the grass and that's the one die I don't have so instead I used some pinking shears at the top and then followed with my scissors at various lenghts

I am SO happy with the end results and my door looks so happy and ready for spring!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Totally, good times!

Hi everyone and welcome March!
The beggining of spring and beautiful blooms all around us, so are you ready for a weekend getaway?
that's this months theme over @ OUAS
You need to document about a getaway, so how about our gorgeous island of Culebra, Puerto Rico?
That's our special escape whenever we have a special weekend coming on
sohere's a few pics I am sharing and my documentation talks about bringing your camera, sunblock and bathing suit. for an unforgettable getaway in gorgeous white sandy beaches and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

I have recycled the packaging of the new Prima blings for the backing of my pics

if this doesn't show fun in a nutshell I don't know what does????
I have used a mask with gesso and done my journaling around the swirls

This water is sooo inviting!

OUT FOR PUBLICATION
WILL BE BACK
SOON!!!!
Enjoy your weekend everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Take a look

18 years ago on a day like this we got married, and 18 years after it's still the little things holding us together.

I fell in love with this month's sketch over @ OUAS and although I did my page I didn't wanted to share until our actual anniversary.  You see this months journaling is all about love and I do love many things my children, my pets all 5 of them!!! my hobby, my friends, cooking, embroidery
but
this kind of love I am journaling about makes it all possible to me.
love.
In my signature swirls I have journaled what our love is all about

"that you kiss me everyday"
"that you still hold my hands"
"I love that you still bring me flowers on Valentine's"
"That you hold me tight and cuddle with me"
That to this day you carry in your wallet a memento from our honeymoon all those years ago
And behind the page I also wrote:
that you listen to me and still can surprise me after all this years
they way you care and how sensible you are
how we still enjoy each others company and you'd rather travel with me than by yourself
how you encourage my creativity
how well we complement and balance each other
that Studio Calico pebble was so perfect for my page!

and the complete page

Nadia's sketch!

and us 18 yrs after!
Thanks for sharing our intimacies! and cheers to many more years
very happy to have received this today on this particular occasion

and a last one from PR's first scrapbook consumer show
the store and the most wonderful, perfect friends I could ever hope for
I thank you from the heart it was perfect because you were there!
and the paper dress I made for Mercedes with grandmas help!

hugs,

Darling Sweetheart

It's week 144 at CCCB and It's a Small World it's their theme,
You need to use a map as part of your design
My immediate thought was CP 14 because I had seen this gorgeous heart based on a map
But as I scrolled down I saw Charlene had used it so I started pouring over the line again
and found a line of hearts as stickers and another die cut in the shape of a button
so here's my take on the challenge
I die cut a Spellbinder doily and lined it with an ivory patterned paper from Webster's
then I used twine to sew my button to the doily
I cut the lined up heart stickers into and individual piece to fit the scale of my button
because of course I needed a pair.

I then machine stitched a couple of layers over a frame die cut also by CP 14
and to finish it up added my sentiment flags
when you open the card it reads:
"Be mine"
Because of the many layers I am presenting it at sugarcreekhollow!

And here's a page I made for the "Papeles y Mas"
as it appears published in their February Edition page 23
Photo: Milagros C. Rivera @Paper Boutique

And here's a sneak peek at my upcoming class at the Convention
you will have to click on the image for more details!

So as you can see it is all a Crate Paper affair!!!

Have a beautiful week everyone!!!

Today is

My birthday, I had no idea Google would make me a birthday word.  None of you know I am actually a digital hoarder of google images, LOL.  I right click and save all the images they create because I think it's mega cool the way they turn their alpahs into things I can recognize, I also suffer when it's something I can not keep, like when they make animated stories where you clink and drag and it evolves.  Crazy huh?  Well this one is MY very own
and I LOVE it so thank you Google you are and will be my favorite search engine!!!
The new heather is courtesy of my husband taking me to chase the sunrise. It was a glorious morning thanks to living in the exact eastern side of the island we can get to see the most beautiful sunrises!
This week it's forever mine at CCCB
here's this weeks inspiration

I thought about doing another easel card using the fabulous Graphic 45 image for the month of February.
This hearts shower is to die for cute!!!!
isn't it pretty?? what a glamorous girl

I hope you can forgive my absence because I have been doing invitations and not scrappin...

Let's toast to a scrappy new year now that I am more relaxed!!!
And sharing Culebra once more as it is always in my wish list no matter how many times I am able to visit!!!

As always in looooove that you come and visit

love you

Vintage Girl

Hola everyone! back again this week playing for the CCCB
The theme this week is vintage boy or girl and I wanted to do a birthday card.
Challenging myself to hues of purple I never use I came up with this cute card.
Loving the Graphic 45 new line, celebrating every month
don't you just love that beautiful image of a 2 year old in front of her cake!!!!

And of course a touch of pink never hurt anyone!
So let's hope you all have a great weekend!
See you next week, when I will share some more!

Chalkboard Art

It's a brand New Year everyone, 2013 and did you know 13 was my favorite number?
Well now you do it goes back to my name
13 corresponds to the letter M in the alphabet
and speaking of letters the challenge this week at TSTR is monogram madness
isn't this image fabulous?
Well this brand new week I have been working non stop on invitations for other peoples events.
My table has been full and I have been overwhelmed by work and deadlines.
So I took a little time off to play
and I wanted it to be with chalk art
check the link aren't those gorgeous inspiration photos???
And Betsy Veldman has done her versions too and all over Pinterest you are bound to find tons of inspiration
So here's my own chalboard version
of my Monogram
I am rather fond of the look, maybe it's some childhood memories of my teachers writing in the blackboard and me wanting to be them.
Anywhoo I loved working with my "eraser" and my "chalks" to create the look
I hope you follow the links and get some directions it's a really fun thing to do.
And even without my usual frills I don't feel naked at all, after all there's a couple of blings in there too ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope I get to see more of you in this brand New Year
Cheers,
