Thank You

Continuing with my Thank you challenge I was inspires by the colors of this week's challenge at the Playdate Cafe
Who would have thought that color combo was going to be so great!  The challenge is to use hot Pink ( I hand dyed my seam binding with Maya Road's Mist), turquoise
( I used
Harmonie's gorgeous, beaded ribbon) rust and brown ( I used Making Memories X'Mas collection) and then some recycled Prima packaging to accentuate the colors and message.  And some new Martha
Stewart lace (punched for good measure)

Here's the last one using more MS punches, so in looove with the doily one!

Merci

Thanks Kazan for picking my card @ 2s4y
I know, it's been a while since I last blogged, I miss going around visiting everyone, and I promise I will sit down and take the time to go visit you!
This post is a multiple challenge one, to begin with the challenges Mom asked me for 3 thank you cards! Here's the first one and it goes with Kazan's sketch, I guess it's all of you that have a couple of this around, edged papers, that is.  I also wanted to incorporate pearls and pastels fromShabby Tea Room and since I was using a watch silhouette I wanted the pearls to dangle as jewelry , go and see the most beautiful bracelet to be inspired with!  And lastly I needed to use the flowers and frills of my friends over at Citycrafter they have Ros with a glorious bunch of roses for you to be inspired.
So here's the final project enjoy and I'll be seeing you!

Boo Villa

Can Halloween be shabby? I guess ...This is for the the Shabby Tearoom I wanted to create a tag you could use to embellish a goodie bag, so what do you think?

Halloween is coming pretty soon.  To me it means a chance to create homemade decorations for the house, costumes for the kids and a chance to walk around the neighborhood.  And greet old friends while enjoying a sugar rush with my kids.

My new Halloween house needed a name, how about Boo Villa.   Maya Road new border stamps are just too much, I wanted to see if I could create a banner with them and sure enough if you bend the stamp it gives and produces a gorgeous, rich image of a perfect doily.  I also decided to try a new spin on the traditional windows and used the MR Foundations cb to create a perfect oval where you could peek into the bats inhabitants.  I also framed the window  with some MR ruffle trim.
For the entrance wreath I used the negative space of the MR foundation for suppot and topped it with MM witches hat.  As you can see there is new and old Halloween collections together, nicely blended by Making Memories.
The entrance had to be grand and so I framed it using the MR decorative scrolls I used potions acrylic paint by MM and Doodlebug glitter to frost it. The roof gets a special touh with Martha Stewart's new spider web punch.

And to finish it off what could be better than to have a game of paper dolls for your kids?  Using MM toil & Trouble die cut page.

Pinwheel Fantasy

This is not only a card but a gift, I used Kazan's sketch to my advantage in creating a special something for a little one.  I decided the wrap around design would be a bracelet the girl could wear.
See how pretty my model is...she is not giving it back by the way, just in case you had    any ideas.  Can you see the shirt she is wearing? Look back on my card posts and you'll see how the card turned into a shirt, told you it was too special, now it has embroidered "wind" all around to make the balloons FLY
close up, minus the HB pin
and the inside view, mother of pearl button and all!
Here, not fair not showing you the whole pic and here is the link to the original card so you can see the close up details of the handwork!
Have a blast this week I have been very busy with the needle!

Familia

Harmonie is having a contest for a project LO or mini album using lots of ribbons, here is my sample working with their wonderful paper, ribbon, chipboard , alphas and inks

this is from my way down as I was embroidering the French knots on the two tonned ribbon,
close ups of embroidery
alpha details, these are so lovely, they are called peel offs, from Holland, and you can use positive and negative space as well, they are created specially for Harmonie.  You can also see their chipboard, is laser engraved, so detialed and pretty.  I used their Pistacho ink and since they are pigment based you can use embossing powder and make them shine!
here is more chipboard sample, see the details on that bracket! and the date was written on a tag I made using the excess paper on the top, the one that has the barcode on the back!  Way to recycle, love  line!

Je t'aime

Today is a very special day, my DH is celebrating his birthday!
we had dinner overlooking the Ocean,  at a special place called Ole Lelolai, a fusion of Puertorrican and Spanish cooking, very, very good!

He woke up to the smell of this...freshly baked pound cake his favorite

I found this Bundt cake mold, while NOT shopping for it, it just happened to be there, waiting for me totally out of season, not that hearts and love are, but you know it was summer not Valentine's.  It is great to bake and unmolds like a dream!
And since CCCB is challenging us to leave our Hearts in San Fancisco...here is the card for DH all packed with love , French sentiment and all, because yes I adore him!
The doily was hand stamped using Basic Grey, Maya Road and Inkadinkado stamps, inspired by the instructions of  Betsy Veldman.  This was a lot of fun to create and even my daughter stamped a doily of her own!  Very addictive, I made several more just because they looked great in all sorts of colors!
Here is my card for this weeks challenge!

Yum

Wow this just in this morning, Thank you so much, it truly is an honor!

This one is a way to challenge myself to create, they are all finished now but I will give more details and show more pics when the collection arrives.  Crate Paper Snow Day!!!!
Let me tell you I can not get enough... And since my best friends abandoned me into the house building complex, I let myself loose on this one and created a whole villa, LOL. You will not believe the size of this babies, nor the time it took me to complete them.
On to Cheyl's challenge @CCCB

I was looking 4 some yumminess and foud myself staring at a piece of Chipboard in a weird shape and a piece of Coredinations textured paper.  Inspiration comes in weird ways..anywhooo it looked to me liked an ice cream cone, sorta...and there was a piece of doilly also hanging around in my craft table, that could become the top of my cone!   So I made myself some pretty ice cream, misted it away in lime, just because the day was hot and I wanted some lime...and of course it needed to be functional and open as a card, just because I love cards in weird shapes and then I splashed color on a piece of  ribbon and made it my fave combo, pink and lime!  So cool yourself off and have some ice cream on me!

M & J 4 ever

I have been working non stop on this card, you could say it is miniature week for me.  Everything is little.  I started working with Kazan's sketch,  first thinking it looked like the beach with fish all around, and then forcing me to work in a different direction.   Making a garden, with a picket fence and all to mimic the scallops. Inspired by The Shabby Tearoom challenge.   There are 3 elements in Kazans sketch, I wanted to use flowers, the bird and something else so I made "graffiti" on the fence. And "carved" our initials inside a heart, LOL, and inside there is another bird with 4-ever!!!
I also think this qualifies as shabby chic
for the Moxie Fab World style challenge.

Here is the little Maya Road bird all deckled up in papers and pearls and embossing...
and the tiny organza blooms, handstitched to the card, some of them were a speckle in my index finger!
handstitched grass...
And my favorite stitch the French Knot on the making...
Enjoy!
Funny, all the work involved in a 4x6 card! you should see my scrap table!
